TO HONOR VETERANS IN THE COMMUNITY, A MEMORIAL PARK IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. THE PROJECT GROUND BREAKING WAS HELD ON AUGUST 19, 2010, AND THE INFRASTRUCTURE IS CURRENTLY BEING DEVELOPED. DURING THE 2013 CALENDAR YEAR, THE WALKWAYS AND PARKING AREA PROJECTS WERE BEGUN. DURING 2014, LANDSCAPING, WALKWAYS, AND PARKING AREA PROJECTS WERE COMPLETED. PHASE I OF THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED IN 2012 AND THE VOLUNTEERS ARE CONTINUING TO MOVE FORWARD TOWARD COMPLETION OF PROJECTS IDENTIFIED IN PHASE II. PHASE II PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2016,2017, AND 2018 INCLUDED: INSTALLED DECORATIVE OVERLOOK FENCE, PAVED RIVER OVERLOOK, AND CONSTRUCTED MEMORIAL TILE WALL. SUBSEQUENT PROJECT PHASES, ON WHICH WORK HAS BEGUN, INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: INSTALL SIX WAR MONUMENTS, INSTALL FLAGPOLE, INSTALL FINAL WALKWAYS & PAVILION, PLACE BUGLER STATUE, INSTALL RESTROOMS WITH EDUCATIONAL MURALS, PLACE SERVICE DOG STATUE, AND PAVE PARK ENTRY WAY, INSTALL BENCHES, EAGLE STATUE, SERVICE FLAGS,MIA/POW FLAGS AND FINAL LANDSCAPING.
