CDF FREEDOM SCHOOLS: FREEDOM SCHOOLS PROVIDES A RICH LITERACY-BASED LEARNING EXPERIENCE THAT FOSTERS AN I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE ATTITUDE IN THE SCHOLARS WE SERVE. FREEDOM SCHOOLS USES AN AWARD WINNING STANDARDS ALIGNED INTEGRATED READING CURRICULUM TO EXPOSE SCHOLARS TO NEW CONCEPTS, IDEAS, AND WAYS OF LOOKING AT THE WORLD, WHILE BUILDING THEIR LITERACY, COMPREHENSION, AND WRITING SKILLS.


EXPANDED LEARNING INITIATIVE (ASP): EXPANDED LEARNING PROGRAM CONTRACTS WITH SACRAMENTO AREA SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO PROVIDE K THROUGH 12TH GRADE STUDENTS WITH EXPANDED LEARNING OPTIONS. PROGRAMMING CONSISTS OF A VARIETY OF TRADITIONAL AND NONTRADITIONAL EDUCATIONAL SUPPORTS FOR OUR SCHOLARS INCLUDING HOMEWORK HELP, TUTORING, READING GROUPS, AND MORE.


FAMILY & COMMUNITY SERVICES: CENTERED AROUND THE BLACK CHILD LEGACY CAMPAIGN (BCLC) WHICH COORDINATES EFFORTS TO REDUCE AFRICAN AMERICAN CHILD DEATHS AND HEALTH DISPARITIES, SUPPORT HAPPY AND HEALTHY CHILDREN, AND ADVOCATE FOR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES. AND AFRICAN AMERICAN HEALING NETWORK WHICH ADDRESS THE EFFECTS OF TRAUMA IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY THROUGH PRACTICED HEALING.
