SONOMA COUNTY BICYCLE COALITION PROMOTES BICYCLING AS A CENTRAL SOLUTION TO MANY OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SOCIAL PROBLEMS FACING OUR COMMUNITY. WE STRIVE TO MAKE SONOMA COUNTY A SAFER PLACE TO RIDE A BIKE THROUGH A COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY. OUR EDUCATION PROGRAMS TEACH CHILDREN AND ADULTS HOW TO RIDE SAFELY AND RESPONSIBLY; OTHER CAMPAIGNS EDUCATE DRIVERS ON HOW TO SHARE THE ROAD RESPONSIBLY. WE PARTNER WITH LOCAL AND REGIONAL AGENCIES TO INCREASE FUNDING FOR BICYCLE INFRASTRUCTURE AND ADVOCATE FOR BIKE-FRIENDLY PLANS AND POLICIES. WE ALSO ORGANIZE ENCOURAGEMENT PROGRAMS AND EVENTS DESIGNED TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE BIKING FOR EVERYDAY TRANSPORTATION.
