PAROLE HEARING SUPPORT - WE ARE THE ONLY NON-PROFIT AGENCY IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA THAT HAS A DEDICATED PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ASSIST VICTIMS ATTENDING PAROLE HEARINGS. WE HAVE A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM TO ASSIST, SUPPORT AND ADVOCATE FOR VICTIMS THROUGH THIS PROCESS. ADVOCATES EDUCATE, PREPARE, AND ACCOMPANY VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS TO PAROLE HEARINGS. OUR ACCOMPANIMENT SERVICES ALLOW ADVOCATES TO SUPPORT AND ADVOCATE FOR VICTIMS DURING THE PAROLE HEARING. POST PAROLE HEARING SUPPORT IS ALSO PROVIDED TO ALL VICTIMS SERVED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM INCLUDING COUNSELING, INFORMATIONAL MONTHLY GROUP SESSIONS, ONGOING EDUCATION, AND REGULAR FOLLOW UP. THIS IS A STATEWIDE PROGRAM ASSISTING VICTIMS. AS EXPERTS IN THIS VERY SPECIALIZED FIELD, WE ARE CONSULTED REGULARLY AND PROVIDE TRAINING. ADDITIONALLY, WE PROVIDE TRAININGS ON VICTIM RIGHTS IN THE PAROLE HEARING PROCESS AND ARE OFTEN ASKED TO ASSIST IF A VICTIM'S RIGHTS ARE VIOLATED. OVER 1,200 VICTIMS ARE ASSISTED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM ANNUALLY.


OUTREACH AND EDUCATION PROGRAM - WE CONDUCT OUTREACH TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT SERVICES AVAILABLE TO VICTIMS OF VIOLENT CRIME. MANY VICTIMS DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO FOR HELP. THROUGH OUR OUTREACH AND EDUCATION PROGRAM, WE WERE ABLE TO REACH OVER 40,000 PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA THROUGH PRESENTATIONS, MEDIA, SOCIAL MEDIA AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS. IN ADDITION, SPECIAL CONSIDERATION IS GIVEN TO POPULATIONS WHERE THERE ARE ADDITIONAL BARRIERS TO OBTAINING SERVICES. OUR SERVICES ARE MOBILE AND PROVIDED VIRTUALLY, ALLOWING ADVOCATES TO REACH MORE INDIVIDUALS BY BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS IN ACCESSING SERVICES.


SUPPORT FOR WOMEN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT AND/OR HUMAN TRAFFICKING- OUR SPECIALIZED PROGRAM IS CONDUCTED WITH A LOCAL SHELTER THAT PROVIDES HOUSING AND SUPPORT FOR WOMEN WHO ARE PREGNANT AND HAVE ISSUES WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE, ARE FLEEING A VIOLENT RELATIONSHIP OR HAVE BEEN TRAFFICKED. THE WOMEN IN THIS PROGRAM HAVE LIVED VERY DIFFICULT LIVES AND HAVE MULTIPLE HURDLES TO OVERCOME AS THEY WORK TO CREATE A BETTER LIFE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR CHILDREN. MANY WOMEN IN THIS PROGRAM HAVE HAD THEIR CHILDREN REMOVED FROM THEIR CARE AND ARE WORKING TOWARDS REUNIFICATION. OUR PART IN THIS PARTNERSHIP PROVIDES GROUP COUNSELING TO THESE WOMEN TO BUILD SELF-ESTEEM, IDENTIFY AND ADDRESS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN THEIR RELATIONSHPS OR UPBRINGING, AND PROMOTE HEALTHY PARENTING.
