THE CHAMBER VIRTUALLY CONDUCTED ITS 13TH ANNUAL REGIONAL STUDY MISSION. THE STUDY MISSION GAVE THIS YEAR'S 100 PARTICIPANTS AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE ASSETS, TALENT AND OPPORTUNITIES OF THE SIX-COUNTY SACRAMENTO REGION, EXPLORING DOWNTOWN AND MIDTOWN SACRAMENTO THIS YEAR. OVER THE COURSE OF THE TWO-DAY WEBINAR CONFERENCE, PARTICIPANTS WERE REMINDED OF WHAT MAKES THE SACRAMENTO REGION THE "BEST OF-FIRST AT-LEADER" WITH A FOCUS ON CIVIC AMENITIES, EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE, INNOVATION AND MORE. PARTICIPANTS REPRESENT DIFFERENT LOCAL BUSINESS LEADERS WANTING TO LEARN MORE ABOUT DIFFERENT PROGRAMS AND MOVEMENTS THAT ARE HELPING TO GROW THE SACRAMENTO REGION.
THE CHAMBER EXECUTED CONTRACTS WITH THE CITY OF SACRAMENTO TO ASSIST BUSINESSES IMPACTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THROUGH THE CONTRACT, EXECUTED IN COLLABORATION WITH THE PARTNERS OF THE SACRAMENTO INCLUSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COLLABORATIVE, THE CHAMBER WAS ABLE TO CONNECT BUSINESSES TO THE RESOURCES AND TOOLS NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL SUCH AS CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITIES, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, WORKSHOPS, AND 1-ON-1 CONSULTING SERVICES. THIS HELPS ENSURE THAT THE CHAMBER'S MEMBERS HAVE ACCESS TO KEY OPPORTUNITIES IN THE SACRAMENTO REGION, ESPECIALLY DURING THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC.
THE CHAMBER STARTED THE MINORITY BUSINESS ASSISTANCE RECOVERY KICKSTART (MBARK) PROGRAM TO ASSIST BUSINESSES IN NEED OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE OR CONSULTING SERVICES TO EITHER START OR GROW THEIR BUSINESS. MBARK IS A COMPREHENSIVE, MULTI-PRONGED APPROACH GEARED TO ASSIST MINORITY SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS IN THE COMMUNITY. MBARK UTILIZES SACC'S UNDERSTANDING AND EXPERTISE ON WHAT MINORITY SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS MAY NEED AND SHOWCASES HOW TO PROACTIVELY ENGAGE THEM IN ORDER TO STABILIZE AND GROW THEIR BUSINESSES.
