BAPTI'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE SUPERVISION AND TRAINING TO EIGHT PRE- LICENSED PSYCHOTHERAPISTS WHILE SERVING DOZENS OF CLIENTS WITH LOW-COST PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES.

IN 2021, BAPTI CONTINUED TO OFFER REMOTE TELEHEALTH SERVICES TO A MAJORITY OF CLIENTS. SOME ASSOCIATE THERAPISTS RETURNED TO THE OFFICE AND BEGAN SEEING SOME CLIENTS FOR IN-PERSON SESSIONS, WITH APPROPRIATE COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES. DUE TO THE INTRODUCTION OF TELEHEALTH IN 2020, BAPTI'S PROGRAM AND REVENUE CONTINUED TO GROW IN 2021. THE FLEXIBILITY AND CONVENIENCE OF TELEHEALTH ALLOWED BAPTI TO EXPAND SERVICES OVERALL TO AN INCREASED NUMBER OF CLIENTS, SINCE ASSOCIATE THERAPISTS WERE NO LONGER LIMITED BY SCHEDULING OF SHARED OFFICE SPACE. BAPTI HAS CONTINUED TO BE A COMMUNITY RESOURCE FOR CLIENTS SEEKING MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC.
THE BAPTI MENTAL HEALTH EQUITY FUND CONTINUES TO PROVIDE LOW-FEE SERVICES TO OUR COMMUNITY. FOR CLIENTS IN NEED OF LOW-FEE THERAPY, IN 2021 THE FUND PROVIDED SUBSIDIES IN THE AMOUNT OF 5,065 FOR A TOTAL OF 166 SESSIONS. FUNDS ARE RAISED THROUGH HOSTING CONTINUING EDUCATION TRAININGS, WHICH ARE ATTENDED BY BOTH LICENSED AND PRE-LICENSED PSYCHOTHERAPISTS. WE SPONSORED FOUR TRAININGS COVERING TOPICS INCLUDING: PLAY THERAPY MOVES ONLINE; CULTURAL HUMILITY AND WORKING WITH TRANS/GENDER-EXPANSIVE CLIENTS; SUICIDE RISK ASSESSMENT AND INTERVENTION; PROVIDING MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES TO IMMIGRANTS.
DURING 2021, WE SUCCESSFULLY GUIDED TWO MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY ASSOCIATES TOWARD LICENSURE AND HIRED THREE NEW ASSOCIATES AS PART OF OUR TRAINING GROUP.
