CALIFORNIA FIRE MECHANICS ACADEMY, INC. IS RECOGNIZED THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AS THE PREMIER TRAINING PROGRAM FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLE TECHNICIANS. IN AN EFFORT TO EXPAND TRAINING POSSIBILITIES TO MORE AGENCIES AND DEPARTMENTS, TWO TRAINING SESSIONS WERE HELD THIS YEAR. THE SPRING TRAINING IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA HAD ALMOST 400 PARTICIPANTS FROM THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND THE FALL TRAINING SESSION IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HAD JUST OVER 100 PARTICIPANTS. OVER THIRTY DIFFERENT CLASSES ARE OFFERED WITH CURRICULUM RANGING FROM INTRODUCTORY COURSES TO ADVANCED CLASSES ON REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF EMERGENCY SUPPRESSION EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING MAINTENANCE OF PUMPS, NOZZLES, BREATHING EQUIPMENT, MANUFACTURER SPECIFIC ENGINES, VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTIONS, AND THE LATEST UPDATES ON CALIFORNIA LAWS AND REGULATIONS. CFMA PROVIDES THE AVENUE FOR STUDENTS WISHING TO OBTAIN CALIFORNIA STATE FIRE MARSHAL EVT CERTIFICATION.
