TREES FOUNDATION MISSION IS TO RESTORE THE ECOLOGICAL INTEGRITY OF CALIFORNIA'S NORTH COAST BY EMPOWERING & ASSISTING REGIONAL COMMUNITY BASED EFFORTS THAT PROMOTE HEALTHY LAND STEWARDSHIP.

SAVE CALIFORNIA SALMON PROJECT: THE SAVE CALIFORNIA SALMON PROJECT SUPPORTS THE FISHERIES AND WATER PROTECTION WORK OF NORTH COAST COMMUNITIES, EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ON THE ISSUES, AND ADVOCATES TO EFFECTIVE POLICYCHANGE FOR CLEAN WATER, FISHERIES AND COMMUNITIES. THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA IS CONSIDERING RESTORING FLOWS ON SOME NORTH COAST RIVERS THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA WATER ACTION PLAN. SEVEN DAMS ON THE KLAMATH AND EEL RIVERS ARE UP FOR RELICENSING. THESE DAMS PROVIDE VERY LITTLE POWER, BUT BLOCK HUNDREDS OF MILES OF FISH HABITAT. THIS PAST YEAR SCS CONTINUED EFFORS TO SUPPORT DAM REMOVAL, AGRICULTURAL POLLUTION REGULATION, AND FLOWS FOR FISH.


MENDO TRAIL STEWARDS PROGRAM: MENODICNO TRAILS STEWARDS IS WORKING TO GIVE A VOICE, THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATION AND OUTREACH, TO THOSE IN THE MENDOCINO COASTAL COMMUNITY WHO WISH TO SEE JACKSON DEMONSTRATION STATE FOREST MANAGED IN A TRULY SUSTAINABLE WAY. THE END GOAL IS TO SEE THE END OF LOGGING WITHIN JDSF AND CO-MANAGEMENT WITH THE POMO INDIANS WHOSE ANCESTRAL LAND JDSF IS WITHIN.


THE CERUS FUND PROVIDES GRANTS TO NONPROFIT ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS & PROJECTS IN OUR REGION. ESTABLISHED THROUGH A PRIVATE DONATION, THIS FUND MAKES GRANTS IN THE AREAS OF RESOURCE PROTECTION, RESTORATION, & CONSERVATION.
