AS COVID NUMBERS BEGAN TO INCREASE IN KERN COUNTY, BAKERSFIELD, AND AROUND OUR COUNTRY WE FELT THE NEED TO ASSIST OUR LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT WITH OUTREACH, EDUCATION AND AWARENESS IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH (BILINGUAL). KCHCC AND PUBLIC HEALTH JOINED FORCES AND STARTED THE KERM COUNTY LATINO COVID-19 TASK FORCE. THE MISSION OF THE KERN COUNTY LATINO COVID-19 TASK FORCE IS TO SAVE LIVES THROUGH, OUTREACH, EDUCATION, AND AWARENESS TO FIND SOLUTIONS TO THE DISPROPORTIONATE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THE LATINO COMMUNITY. THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH KERN COUNTY PUBPLIC HEALTH, OVER 100 COVID TESTING LOCATIONS AND 20,000 FOLKS WHERE COVID TESTED. WE CENTERED ON BILINGUAL AWARENESS THROUGH STRATEGIC CAMPAIGNS. I*N ADDITION A HELPLINE TO ASSIST ELDERLY WITH SCHEDULING VACCINE APPOINTMENTS AND LAUNCHED A MENTAL CRISIS HEALTH-LINE FOR RESIDENTS TO MINIMIZE DEPRESSION, ISOLATION, LONELINESS, ETC. THE HOTLINE REACHES 6,000 CALLERS A MONTH. WE ORGANIZE FREE VACCINE CLINICS, THROUGH OUR EFFORTS, NEARLY 15,000 INDIVIDUALS HAVE BEEN VACCINATED.
THE MISSION OF THE CHAMBER IS TO PROMOTE, ENHANCE, AND ESTABLISH BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP AND THE MINORITY COMMUNITY THROUGH PROMOTION AND EDUCATION.
