TO PROMOTE MUSIC EDUCATION, ENHANCE THE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF BAND PARTICIPANTS, CONTRIBUTE TO THE ADVANCEMENT AND NEEDS OF THE BAND PROGRAMS, ENCOURAGE GROWTH AND ACHIEVEMENT FOR ALL STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN BAND PROGRAMS AND LEND SUPPORT TO THE DIRECTOR OF BANDS.

THE NEWSOME BAND BOOSTERS WAS ORGANIZED TO SUPPORT THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE MEMBERS OF THE BAND AND COLOR GUARD. THE BOOSTERS RAISE FUNDS TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT, MAINTAIN UNIFORMS AND REPAIR/REPLACE INSTRUMENTS NEEDED FOR THE BAND'S MARCHING, CONCERT, WINTER GUARD AND INDOOR PERCUSSION SEASONS. THE NEWSOME BAND WAS THE 2017 RECIPIENT OF THE OTTO J. KRAUSHAAR AWARD FROM THE FLORIDA BANDMASTER'S ASSOCIATION FOR RECEIVING STRAIGHT SUPERIOR RATINGS IN CONCERT, JAZZ AND MARCHING AT THE STATE MUSIC PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT. THE MARCHING BAND IS AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE FLORIDA MARCHING BAND STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. THE NEWSOME WINTERGUARD WAS A FINALIST AT THE 2018 WGI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. THE NEWSOME INDOOR PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE WAS A FINALIST AT THE 2017 WGI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. THE MARCHING BAND PARTICIPATED IN THE 2016 MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY 90TH ANNIVERSARY PARADE. THE MARCHING BAND WAS THE GRAND CHAMPION AT THE 2015 BANDS OF AMERICA DELAWARE REGIONAL.
