Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
GIRL TALK'S LARGEST AND CORE PROGRAM IS OUR CHAPTERS. OUR GIRL-LED CHAPTERS OFFER ALL HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS A UNIQUE LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE AND DEVELOP THEIR OWN SKILLS AND STYLE AS A LEADER IN AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE THERE ARE NO ACADEMIC, ATHLETIC, FINANCIAL OR OTHER BARRIERS TO LEADERSHIP. THROUGH LEADING HER CHAPTER, EACH GIRL TALK LEADER HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER HER DISTINCTIVE VOICE AND IS GIVEN THE PLATFORM TO USE IT AND EMPOWER OTHERS TO DO THE SAME. THROUGH WEEKLY CHAPTER MEETINGS, HELD NATIONWIDE AND FACILITATED BY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS, GIRL TALK HELPS MIDDLE SCHOOLERS LEARN FROM THEIR PEER MENTORS AND BETTER UNDERSTAND AND ADDRESS THE ISSUES THEY FACE. IN DOING SO, BOTH THE HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS DEVELOP CONFIDENCE AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS. OUR HIGH SCHOOL LEADERS HAVE ACCESS TO OVER 100 LESSONS AND RESOURCES TO GUIDE AND GROW THEIR CHAPTER AND RECEIVE COMMUNICATIONS FROM US TWICE A MONTH WITH UPDATES, IDEAS, AND RELEVANT NEWS. IN ADDITION, ALL NEW PROGRAMMING DEVELOPED THIS PAST YEAR SUPPORTS OUR CHAPTERS AND CAN BE USED AS ADDITIONAL RESOURCES TO ENHANCE OUR CURRICULUM. THERE ARE NO REGISTRATION OR ANNUAL FEES ASSOCIATED WITH GIRL TALK. WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT MAKING SURE THERE ARE NO FINANCIAL OBSTACLES TO GIRLS WHO WOULD LIKE TO JOIN OUR LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.
GIRL TALK'S AMBASSADOR PROGRAM IS A COLLECTION OF HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS WHO HAVE BEEN SELECTED, THROUGH AN ANNUAL APPLICATION PROCESS, TO PARTICIPATE IN A UNIQUE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE. OUR AMBASSADORS SERVE AS REPRESENTATIVES OF GIRL TALK AND ADVOCATE ON OUR BEHALF BY SPREADING AWARENESS OF OUR PROGRAM AND ITS IMPACT BOTH LOCALLY AND ON A NATIONAL PLATFORM. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, AS WELL AS OUR MONTHLY ONLINE MEETINGS, THEY LEARN THE INS AND OUTS OF OUR ORGANIZATION, RECEIVE UPDATES CONCERNING GIRL TALK, PROVIDE VALUABLE INSIGHTS ON PROGRAMMING DECISIONS SO WE MAINTAIN RELEVANCY AND SUPPORT OUR MISSION THROUGHOUT THE YEAR BY HOSTING INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISERS. THEY ALL ALSO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE THEIR VOICES ON OUR PODCAST, SUMMIT, NEWSLETTERS AND BLOG AND PROMOTE GIRL TALK AND OTHER TOPICS THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS.
GIRL TALK'S DIGITAL RESOURCES SUPPORT GIRLS ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES AND BEYOND WITH ENCOURAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP RESOURCES. GIRL TALK'S LEADHERSHIP DEFINED VIRTUAL SUMMIT WAS CREATED IN 2020 TO PROVIDE ENCOURAGEMENT, INSPIRATION, AND MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES DURING THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC. DUE TO THE FEEDBACK WE RECEIVED, GIRL TALK HAS MADE IT A PERMANENT PROGRAM. INSPIRATIONAL FEMALE LEADERS SHARE THEIR JOURNEYS, LIFE LESSONS, AND RESOURCES WITH OUR ATTENDEES. GIRL TALK THEN HAS AN AMBASSADOR BREAKDOWN WHERE WE TALK WITH OUR HIGH SCHOOL AMBASSADORS ABOUT WHAT ARE THE KEY TAKEAWAYS AND HIGHLIGHTS FROM EACH SPEAKER. FINALLY WE PROVIDE AN ACTIVITY OR CHALLENGE THAT TURNS THE SPEAKERS WORDS INTO ACTION, SO OUR ATTENDEES CAN LEARN HOW TO TURN INSPIRATION INTO EVERY DAY ACTIONS THAT SUPPORT THEIR LEADERSHIP JOURNEY. SUMMITS COVER MANY TOPICS, SOME INCLUDE: IMPOSTER SYMDROME, TIME MANAGEMENT, SELF-CARE, BREATHING AND GROUNDING EXERCISES, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, IMPORTANCE OF STEAM CAREERS, HOW TO USE SOCIAL PLATFORMS FOR GOOD, VALUE OF REPRESENTATION, ETC. ALL ARE INVITED TO JOIN OUR SUMMITS, ATTENDEES DO NOT HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN OTHER PROGRAMMING TO JOIN AND SHARE THE EXPERIENCE. ADDITIONALLY, GIRL TALK PRODUCES A PODCAST TWICE A MONTH WITH ENCOURAGING TOPICS PERTAINING TO LEADERSHIP AND ALSO SENDS DAILY TEXT MESSAGES TO SUBSCRIBERS WITH RESOURCES AND ENCOURAGEMENT.
