TO HELP ADULTS AND CHILDREN WITH MENTAL ILLNESS AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROBLEMS TO RECOVER AND MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE. TO REDUCE THE INCIDENCE OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT TO ASSIT PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS INVOLVED IN THE CHILD WELFARE PROCESS.

OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. ON AN ANNUAL BASIS PIRC PROVIDES INDIVIDUAL GROUP AND FAMILY COUNSELING TO APPROXIMATELY 200 ADULTS AND CHILDREN. WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STABILITIZE THE CHILDREN IN THE HOME AND IN SCHOOL. ADDITIONALLY WE PROVIDE PARENTING EDUCATION AND ANGER MANAGEMENT TRAINING, AND CHILD SENSITIVITY TRAINING. THESE SERVICES ARE TO THE INDIGENT FAMILIES THAT ARE SUPPORTED BY FLORIDA MEDICAID AND MEDICARE INFORMATION AND RESOURCES: THIS SERVICE IS PROVIDED AS PART OF THE CONTINUUM OF CARE. MANY OF THE CLIENTS HAVE PROBLEMS ACCESSING SERVICES SUCH AS HOUSING, CHILD CARE, EMPLOYMENT, VOCATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL TRAINING. PIRC EDUCATES AND TRAINS CLIENTS TO ADVOCATE FOR THEIR NEEDS.
