FORENSIC INTERVIEWS - STRUCTURED CONVERSATIONS IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT BETWEEN CHILDREN THAT MAY HAVE BEEN ABUSED OR NEGLECTED AND A TRAINED PROFESSIONAL INTERVIEWER IN COORDINATION WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES PERSONNEL. A SINGLE INTERVIEW MODEL IS USED SO THAT THE CHILDREN DO NOT HAVE TO BE QUESTIONED REPEATEDLY. THE GOAL OF THE INTERVIEWS IS TO AID IN ENSURING THE SAFETY OF THE INDIVIDUAL CHILD AS WELL AS OTHER CHILDREN IN THE COMMUNITY.
