SOUTHERN REGIONAL CHILDRENS ADVOCACY CENTER - IN 2023, SRCAC PROVIDED TRAINING AND RESOURCES TO 2,256 CHILD ABUSE PROFESSIONALS, STATE CHAPTER ORGANIZATIONS, AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM MEMBERS PREDOMINATLY BASED IN THE 16-STATE SOUTHEAST REGION OF THE US, INCLUDING THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, THROUGH CUTOMIZED AND CORE TRAININGS, CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS, ONLINE AND PEER LEARNING, WEBINARS,AND PODCASTS. IN ADDITION, SRCAC PROVIDED INDIVIDUAL INSTANCES OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO 1,403 PROFESSIONALS.
EFFORTS TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF CHILD MALTREATMENT BY USING A MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM APPROACH TO PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION SERVICES FOR ABUSED CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES.
OJJDP-TRAINING GRANT - IN 2023, THE TRAINING/TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR CHILD ABUSE PROFESSIONALS, FUNDED BY A GRANT AWARDED BY THE OFFICE OF JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY PREVENTION (US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE), PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO 715 PROFESSIONALS AND CREATED AND PUBLISHED 1 RESOURCE. IN-PERSON AND LIVE VIRTUAL TRAININGS WERE PROVIDED TO 3,047 PEOPLE AND PRE-RECORDED VIRTUAL TRAININGS WERE COMPLETED BY 18,596 PEOPLE FROM THE UNITED STATES AND WORLDWIDE. THE CHILD ABUSE LIBRARY ONLINE HAD 20,034 UNIQUE VISITS AND A TOTAL OF 30,528 PEOPLE FROM THE UNITED STATES AND WORLDWIDE.
THE 39TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CHILD ABUSE (SYMPOSIUM) WAS A VIRTUAL CONFERENCE HOSTED AT NCAC MARCH 20-23, 2023. THE SUCCESSFUL, INFORMATIVE, AND INNOVATIVE MULTIDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE FEATURED MORE THAN 160 WORKSHOPS, OVER 167 PRESENTERS, AND TRAINED 1,158 PROFESSIONALS FROM 50 STATES, D.C., PUERTO RICO, AND 6 COUNTRIES. THE SYMPOSIUM HAS HOSTED AND TRAINED PROFESSIONALS IN THE FIELD OF CHILD ABUSE, MALTREATMENT, AND PREVENTION FOR OVER 35 YEARS AND CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE LEADING CHILD ABUSE CONFERENCES WORLDWIDE.
