MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (MCCLA):THE MCCLA PROGRAM WAS ESTABLISHED IN THE SPRING OF 2009 TO ADDRESS THE IMPENDING SHORTAGE OF LEADERS WITHIN MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY & JUNIOR COLLEGES. IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE RETIREMENT NATIONWIDE OF COLLEGE PRESIDENTS AND OTHER LEADERS OVER THE NEXT FIVE TO TEN YEARS WILL LEAVE A SHORTAGE OF SEASONED COLLEGE LEADERS UNLESS COLLEGES AND COLLEGE SYSTEMS BEGIN TO EQUIP POTENTIAL LEADERS TO ACCEPT LEADERSHIP ROLES. THE MCCLA WAS FOUNDED TO PREPARE THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY A PART OF THE MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE FAMILY TO ASSUME GREATER LEADERSHIP ROLES IN THE FUTURE. THE ACADEMY IS DESIGNED TO DRAW UPON THE WISDOM AND EXPERTISE OF COLLEGE PRESIDENTS AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS IN COLLEGE LEADERSHIP, AS WELL AS INDIVIDUALS WHO MAY PROVIDE A MORE GLOBAL VIEW OF THE COLLEGE AND ITS FUTURE.THIRTY-SEVEN GRADUATED FROM THE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY IN 2021, BRINGING THE TOTAL GRADUATES OF MCCLA TO 414 OVER THE FIRST 12 YEARS OF THE PROGRAM. GRADUATES WERE FROM THE FIFTEEN PUBLIC COMMUNITY COLLEGES, THE MCCB, MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY, AND DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY. THE PARTNERSHIP WITH MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY (MSU) CONTINUES TO REMAIN VERY STRONG. MSU ASSISTS WITH PROGRAM COSTS THROUGH AN ANNUAL GRANT, AND A TOTAL OF 30 MSU PARTICIPANTS HAVE GRADUATED FROM THE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY.
MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY AND JUNIOR COLLEGE SPORTS HALL OF FAME (SHF):THE SHF WAS CONCEIVED IN THE FALL OF 2006 AS A MEANS OF RECOGNIZING ATHLETES AND COACHES WHO HAVE PLAYED AND/OR COACHED IN ONE OR MORE OF MISSISSIPPI'S PUBLIC COMMUNITY AND JUNIOR COLLEGES. THE FIRST INDUCTION BANQUET WAS HELD AT CO-LIN IN APRIL 2007. MCCF WORKED WITH THE SHF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO COORDINATE THE RECOGNITION BANQUET OF THE INDUCTEES ON APRIL 27TH, 2021.
