THROUGH ITS HOUSING AND FAMILY SERVICES PROGRAMS, THE MINISTRIES PROVIDES COUNSELING AND ASSISTANCE TO VETERANS AND OTHERS IN NEED. THE MINISTRIES HAS ACQUIRED AND REHABILITATED HUNDREDS OF VACANT AND DILAPIDATED HOUSES FOR LOW TO MODERATE INCOME HOMEOWNERS. WE HAVE ALSO BUILT NEW HOMES FOR HURRICANE KATRINA EVACUEES. THE MINISTRIES HAS RECEIVED TWO GRANTS FROM HUD'S NEIGHBORHOOD STABILIZATION PROGRAM FUNDING TO ACQUIRE AND REHABILITATE VACANT HOUSES FOR LOW TO MODERATE INCOME BUYERS. THE MINISTRIES IS A HUD CERTIFIED HOMEOWNER TRAINING AGENCY.
THROUGH ITS VOLUNTEER SERVICES PROGRAM, THE MINISTRIES SOLICITS NEW AND RETURNING VOLUNTEERS FROM ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO COME TO MISSISSIPPI AND ASSIST IN ITS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS. THIS INVOLVES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN HOUSING REHABILITATION,PROPERTY MAINTENANCE, COMMUNITY GREEN SPACE PRESERVATION AND NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN-UP INITIATIVES IN ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED AREAS PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE WHO OTHERWISE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE SERVICES AND ALL DONE WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF RACIAL RECONCILIATION AND BY SERVANTS WHO FIGHT POVERTY AND DESPAIR. WE CAN PROVIDE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES APPROPRIATE TO VARIOUS AGE GROUPS AND ANY SKILL LEVEL.
THROUGH ITS YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM, THE MINISTRIES ORGANIZED ACTIVITIES FOR LOCAL YOUTH WHICH INCLUDED A SUMMER CAMP, AFTER SCHOOL MENTORSHIP PROGRAM WHICH EMPHASIZED TUTORIALS IN READING AND MATH, HEALTHY LIFE STYLE EDUCATION, LEADERSHIP SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND CHARACTER EDUCATION.
