WE PROVIDE VOLUNTEER SERVICES THROUGH TRAINED, CERTIFIED THERAPY TEAMS THAT ARE COMPOSED OF A HUMAN AND A DOG, CAT, OR HORSE. THE TEAM INTERACT WITH CHILDREN, ADULTS AND SENIORS WHO ARE RECEIVING MEDICAL CARE IN THIRTEEN FACILITIES AND THREE HOSPICE FACILITIES, WITH CHILDREN IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS WHO ARE AT RISK OF ACADEMIC FAILURE BECAUSE OF POOR READING SKILLS, AND YOUTH IN THREE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND ENRICHMENT ORGANIZATIONS.
KIND HEARTS BEHAVIOR CENTER IS UNIQUE IN USING CLICKER TRAINING AS ITS FOUNDATION TOOL. INSTRUCTORS AT KIND HEARTS USE POSITIVE REWARDING TECHNIQUES BASED ON SOUND LEARNING THEORY. DOGS LEARN BY BEING SHOWN WHAT TO DO RATHER THAN BEING FORCED.
