LIFELONG LEARNING: THE APTA GERIATRICS IS THE LEADING SOURCE FOR KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATION, FACILITATING THE CONTINUAL TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT NEEDED TO UPHOLD EXCELLENCE IN THE PRACTICE OF PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR AGING ADULTS. DESCRIPTIONS BELOW:THE CERTIFIED EXERCISE EXPERT FOR AGING ADULTS (CEEAA) COURSE PROVIDES CLINICIANS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP CLINICAL REASONING SKILLS RELATED TO AGING ADULTS WITH VARIOUS LEVELS OF COMPLEXITY AND ACROSS THE CONTINUUM OF CARE. PARTICIPANTS CAN ALSO TAKE AN ADVANCED CEEAA COURSE.THE ADVANCES IN EXERCISE FOR THE OLDER ADULT A PTA-FOCUS COURSE, WHERE PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT'S (PTA) LEARN TO USE EXERCISE AS AN ADVANCED REHABILITATION INTERVENTION FOR THE AGING ADULT.THE BALANCE & FALL PREVENTION PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIAL COURSE PROVIDES A NATIONAL, UNIFORM INDICATOR THAT A PHYSICAL THERAPIST POSSESSES SPECIALIZED, ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCE IN THE PRACTICE OF BALANCE AND FALL PREVENTION IN COMMUNITY DWELLING OLDER ADULTS.THE HOME STUDY MODULES ARE ONLINE, AT-YOUR-OWN-PACE MICRO-LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. THESE COURSES MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONTINUED EDUCATION CREDITS IN A VARIETY OF CONTENT AREAS OF VALUE TO PHYSICAL THERAPISTS.WEBINARS ARE ONLINE, AS LIVE INSTRUCTOR LEAD MICRO-LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. THESE COURSES MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONTINUED EDUCATION CREDITS IN A VARIETY OF CONTENT AREAS OF VALUE TO PHYSICAL THERAPISTS.ACCOMPLISHMENTS:AS OF 10/31/2019, 836 INDIVIDUALS HAVE BECOME CREDENTIALED IN THE CEEAA COURSE SINCE INCEPTION, 93 OF WHICH WENT ON TO ALSO RECEIVE CREDENTIALS IN THE ADVANCED CEEAA COURSE. AS OF 2021, OVER 50 HOME STUDY MODULES HAVE BEEN LAUNCHED SINCE INCEPTION. IN 2021, THERE WERE 9 WEBINARS, OF WHICH HAD OVER 1300 REGISTRANTS.
