THE CHICKASAW COUNCIL, EXECUTIVE BOARD CONTINUES TO BE COMMITTED TO SERVING DISADVANTAGED YOUTH. REGISTRATION ASSISTANCE, ACCIDENT AND SICKNESS INSURANCE, PROGRAM SUPPLIES, BOOKS, AND CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS ARE MADE AVAILABLE TO YOUTH PARTICIPANTS. THERE ARE MORE THAN 1,000 YOUTH WHO RECEIVE BENEFITS FROM THESE PROGRAMS. THE COUNCIL PROVIDES YEAR ROUND SCOUTING PROGRAMS TO CHURCHES THROUGHOUT OF 17 COUNTY TERRITORY. NO CHILD IS DENIED THE SCOUTING PROGRAM DUE TO FINANCIAL HARDSHIP.
SUMMER CAMP IS OPERATED AT OUR KIA KIMA SCOUT RESERVATION NEAR HARDY, ARKANSAS. SUMMER CAMP SAW OVER 5,000 PARTICIPANTS IN 2021. THOUSANDS OF MERIT BADGES WERE AWARDED.
HIGH ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES INCLUDING THE PHILMONT SCOUT RESERVATION, NORTHERN TIER AND THE FLORIDA SEA BASE. ADDITIONALLY, CAMP KIA KIMA HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF 40 LOCAL COUNCIL HIGH ADVENTURE CAMPS. SCOUTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO EARN THEIR WAY TO THESE CAMPS BY SELLING CAMP CARD, POPCORN SALES AND OTHER UNIT LEVEL FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES.
