THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED IT'S SIGNATURE ANNUAL TOY PROGRAM, AS WELL AS VARIOUS COMMUNITY AWARENESS ACTIVITIES, THE MONUMENT TO THE FALLEN AND THE FIREFIGHTERS STAIRCLIMB.

COMMUNITY SERVICE - THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES VARIOUS FORMS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR INCLUDING SEMINARS, PROGRAMS SUCH AS THE CITIZENS FIRE ACADEMY AND FIRE PREVENTION WEEK. THE CITIZENS FIRE ACADEMY WAS CREATED TO HELP THE CITIZENS OF LEXINGTON BETTER UNDERSTAND HOW THE LEXINGTON FIRE DEPARTMENT SERVICE THEIR COMMUNITY. THE FIRE PREVENTION WEEK IS A WEEK DEDICATED TO EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ON FIRE PREVENTION AND SAFETY ISSUES. IN ADDITION AS PART OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICE IN THE CURRENT YEAR FUNDS WERE DONATED TO THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT UNION TO BE USED FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW BUILDING.
"FIREFIGHER STAIR CLIMB AND MONUMENT TO THE FALLEN" THE MONUMENT TO THE FALLEN WAS ERECTED IN PHOENIX PARK IN LEXINGTON TO HONOR THE FIREFIGHTERS THAT HAVE DIED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. FUNDS CONTINUE TO BE RAISED FOR THE NECESSARY MAINTENANCE AND ADDITIONS TO THE MONUMENT AND OTHER ACTS OF BENEVOLENCE TO FIREFIGHTERS AS SITUATIONS ARISE.
THE FIREFIGHTERS TOY PROGRAM SERVES THE LEXINGTON COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING CHRISTMAS TOYS TO MORE THAN 1,500 FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN IN NEED IN THE FAYETTE COUNTY AREA.
