THE MISSION OF THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS (AIA) IS TO UNITE ARCHITECTS IN FELLOWSHIP, PROMOTE THE AESTHETIC, SCIENTIFIC, AND PRACTICAL EFFICIENCY OF THE PROFESSION, ADVANCE THE SCIENCE AND ART OF PLANNING AND BUILDING, COORDINATE THE BUILDING INDUSTRY AND THE PROFESSION OF ARCHITECTURE TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE, AND TO MAKE THE PROFESSION OF EVER-INCREASING SERVICE TO SOCIETY.

MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS WITH SPEAKERS ON A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL/COMMUNITY TOPICS WITH AVERAGE ATTENDANCE OF 50 MEMBERS; TWICE-MONTHLY ONE HOUR ONLINE CONTINUING EDUCATION (CEU) CLASSES, STAFF HELPS MEMBERS KEEP TRACK OF THEIR ANNUAL REQUIRED CEUS, APPROXIMATELY 35 IN ATTENDANCE AT EACH. OCTOBER IS CELEBRATE ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN MONTH DURING WHICH WE HOLD A DESIGN AWARDS GALA (400 ATTENDEES) AND LECTURES. WE COLLABORATE WITH ARCHITECTURE SCHOOLS ON EVENTS AND HOLD A SANDCASTLE DESIGN COMPETITION. APPROXIMATELY 60 STUDENTS ATTENDED IN 2021. IN JULY WE HOLD OUR ARCHITECTS IN THE MAKING (AIM) SUMMER CAMP FOR BUDDING ARCHITECTS, AGES 8 - 15. APPROXIMATELY 100 STUDENTS ATTENDED IN 2021.
