THE FOUNDATIONS PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE IS TO RAISE THE EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL LEVELS OF DISADVANTAGED YOUTH RESIDING IN COLUMBUS, GA. MANY OF THESE ARE MEMBERS OF THE MINORITY COMMUNITY WHOSE PARENTS ARE UNEMPLOYED OR SUBSTANTIALLY UNDEREMPLOYED AND WHOSE INCOME IS BELOW FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES. WE WORK WITH OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES THAT WOULD OTHERWISE NOT BE AVAILABLE TO THESE YOUNG PEOPLE. IN DOING SO, WE HELP THEM BUILD A FOUNDATION THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO RISE ABOVE THE POVERTY, CRIME AND OTHER NEGATIVE INFLUENCES OF THEIR USUAL ENVIRONMENT.
