TO PROMOTE AND DEVELOP THE THOUGHT OF DIETRICH VON HILDEBRAND, A 20TH CENTURY CATHOLIC PHILOSOPHER, AS WELL AS THE BROADER TRADITION OF CHRISTIAN PERSONALISM, THROUGH CHANNELS INCLUDING PUBLICATIONS, SEMINARS, AND DIGITAL MEDIA.

PUBLICATIONS: THE HILDEBRAND PROJECT WAS FOUNDED TO TRANSLATE AND PUBLISH THE WORKS OF DIETRICH VON HILDEBRAND. THIS FOUNDING PURPOSE REMAINS CENTRAL. THE HILDEBRAND PRESS, THE PUBLISHING ARM OF THE HILDEBRAND PROJECT, RELEASED THE FOLLOWING TITLES IN 2021: "WHAT IS PHILOSOPHY?" [AUGUST], AND "THE DETHRONEMENT OF TRUTH" [DECEMBER]. WE ALSO RELEASED OUR FIRST AUDIOBOOK, "THE ART OF LIVING" [DECEMBER].
ACADEMIC: THE HILDEBRAND PROJECT SUPPORTS THE ENGAGEMENT AND STUDY OF HILDEBRAND THROUGH A RANGE OF PROGRAMS. AS IN 2020, OUR 2021 SUMMER SEMINAR WAS HELD ONLINE AND GATHERED NEARLY 80 FULL PARTICIPANTS AND 275 AUDITORS. THE SEMINAR THEME WAS "THE PERSONALIST VISION." OUR ANNUAL RESIDENCY FOR ADVANCED STUDENTS TOOK PLACE IN PERSON [JUNE-JULY]. OTHER ADVANCED PROGRAMMING IN 2021 INCLUDED: (1) AN ONLINE CONFERENCE ON "DIETRICH VON HILDEBRAND'S 'ETHICS''', COSPONSORED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, HOUSTON, FOR 14 INVITED ACADEMICS AND AN AUDIENCE OF OVER 30 [APRIL]; (2) AN IN-PERSON COLLOQUIUM ON "DIETRICH VON HILDEBRAND AND THE SACRED" FOR A GROUP OF 15 INVITED ACADEMICS, HELD AT CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF AMERICA [OCTOBER], AND (3) A VIRTUAL ADVANCED READING GROUP FOR 16 INVITED SCHOLARS ON HILDEBRAND AND DALLAS WILLARD [SEPT-NOV]. FINALLY, (4) WE INVITED AN ADDITIONAL NINE SCHOLARS TO JOIN OUR ASSOCIATED SCHOLARS PROGRAM, WHICH SEEKS TO EXPAND THE COMMUNITY OF INTELLECTUALS DEVOTED TO HILDEBRAND AND THE PERSONALIST TRADITION.
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH: (1) PROGRAMMING FOR A NON-SCHOLARLY AUDIENCE WAS OFFERED IN THE FORM OF VIRTUAL READING GROUPS ON BOOKS PUBLISHED BY HILDEBRAND PRESS WITH OPEN REGISTRATION. TWENTY GROUPS WERE CONVENED IN 2021 (APPROXIMATE ATTENDANCE OF SIXTEEN PER GROUP). (2) WE LAUNCHED 6 FACULTY-LED IN-PERSON READING CIRCLES FOR STUDENTS IN FALL 2021. (3) WE HOSTED TWO VIRTUAL BOOK LAUNCH EVENTS: ON "ETHICS" [MARCH] AND "WHAT IS PHILOSOPHY?" [OCTOBER]. (4) PUBLIC EVENTS, INCLUDING OUR ANNUAL SUMMER SEMINARS, ARE FILMED AND PRESENTED ON THE HILDEBRAND PROJECT'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL. (WWW.HILDEBRANDPROJECT.ORG). (5) THE WEBSITE IS REGULARLY UPDATED AND HAS BEEN EXPANDED TO INCLUDE UP-TO-DATE VIDEOS, PHOTOS, AND INFORMATION.
