THROUGH THE LYNCH FAMILY LEGACY SCHOLARSHIPS AND EXCEPTIONAL STAR OF THE YEAR AWARDS, THE JOHN LYNCH FOUNDATION HAS ASSISTED MANY STUDENT-ATHLETES IN ACHIEVING THEIR DREAMS. THE LYNCH FAMILY LEGACY SCHOLARSHIPS PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO STUDENTS WHO ARE ATTENDING FOUR YEAR UNIVERSITIES. THROUGH THE SCHOLARSHIP, THE FOUNDATION IS RECOGNIZING STUDENTS WHO HAVE EXCELLED IN KEY AREAS THROUGHOUT HIGH SCHOOL AND BRINGS THEM ONE STEP CLOSER TO ACHIEVING THEIR DREAMS AS YOUNG LEADERS. THE RECIPIENTS IN DENVER AND TAMPA ARE CHOSEN BASED ON THEIR ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS, ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND COMMUNITY WORK. FINANCIAL NEED IS ALSO CONSIDERED AND ESSAYS AND LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION ARE REQUIRED. THE EXCEPTIONAL STAR OF THE YEAR AWARDS ARE PRESENTED TO STUDENT ATHLETES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, INCLUDING DOWN SYNDROME AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES. THESE STUDENTS ARE CHOSEN BASED ON THE SAME CRITERIA AS THE OTHERS.
LYNCH'S HOLIDAY PARTY: EVERY DECEMBER JOHN AND LINDA HOST A HOLIDAY PARTY TO BENEFIT THE NEEDIEST BOYS & GIRLS CLUB MEMBERS IN THE DENVER AREA. EACH GUEST IS SURPRISED WITH A SPECIAL EVENING INCLUDING A SURPRISE VISIT FROM SANTA (BEARING GIFTS!), A DELICIOUS DINNER, AND TICKETS TO SEE A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE AT THE DENVER CENTER FOR PERFORMING ARTS. THE HOLIDAY PARTY BENEFITS THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF METRO DENVER AS WELL AS MILITARY FAMILIES.
