THIS GOAL ADDRESSES A MULTITUDE OF ISSUES INCLUDING EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE, SOCIAL, LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL BARRIERS, ACCESS TO SOCIAL RESOURCES, COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE, AND MEETING DAILY NEEDS SUCH AS FOOD REQUIREMENTS. FOOD PANTRY: IN THE US, THE FOOD PANTRY SERVES 125-150 FAMILIES (500+ INDIVIDUALS) PER WEEK WITH A BOX OF VARIOUS MEATS, FRUITS, VEGETABLES, DRIED AND CANNED GOODS AND MILK PRODUCTS.
IN THE U.S.: GENERAL ADMINISTRATION (10,747).
US PROGRAMS AND OUTREACH: HTH PROGRAMS INCLUDE: 1) ADULT COMPUTER CLASSES 9 HRS/WEEK FOR 10 MONTHS/YR, TEACHING BASIC AND ADVANCED COMPUTER SKILLS, 2) TUTORING, READING AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN IN PK-4 UP TO YOUNG ADULTS THAT ENCOURAGE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND STRONG VALUES, 3) MONTHLY FINANCIAL LITERACY PRESENTATIONS THAT TEACH BUDGETING, BANKING OPTIONS, CREDIT & CREDIT CARD MANAGEMENT, DEBT MANAGEMENT AND SAVING AND RETIREMENT INFORMATION, AND 4) ENGLISH LITERACY THAT TEACHES READING, WRITING AND SPEAKING THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ON A WEEKLY BASIS.
HAITI EDUCATION, SPONSORSHIP & OUTREACH: IN HAITI, HTH PROVIDES EDUCATION SUPPORT FOR 2 SCHOOLS: THE NOTRE DAME DE FATIMA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN JEANDENIS, HAITI, SERVING 150 STUDENTS AND THE ECOLE NATIONAL DE CHIMORO IN BOUCAN CARRE, HAITI, WHICH SERVES 200 STUDENTS. HTH PROVIDES TEACHERS' SALARY SUPPORT AND FOOD FOR THE STUDENTS IN BOTH SCHOOLS. HTH ALSO SPONSORS 12 FAMILIES IN HAITI WITH AN AVERAGE OF 50/MONTH TO SUPPORT BASIC NEEDS OF FOOD, HOUSING AND TUITION SUPPORT FOR THE CHILDREN.
