EACH CHILD, ALONG WITH THEIR PARENTS OR CAREGIVERS, EXPERIENCE SINGING, CREATIVE MOVEMENT, SIMPLE INSTRUMENTS, AND FINGER PLAYS WITH HELP FORM A RICH COLLECTION OF TRADITIONAL SONGS, RHYMES, AND LITERATURE. MUSIC IGNITES ALL AREAS OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT: INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, LANGUAGE, MEMORY AND OVERALL LITERACY.EXPOSING CHILDREN TO MUSIC DURING EARLY DEVELOPMENT HELPS THEM LEARN THE SOUNDS AND MEANINGS OF WORDS AS THEY EXPLORE VOCAL SOUNDS AND SINGING. DANCING TO MUSIC HELPS CHILDREN BUILD MOTOR SKILLS WHILE ALLOWING THEM TO PRACTICE SELF-EXPRESSION. FOR TODDLERS AND PRE-SCHOOLERS, MUSIC IS MAKING A DYNAMIC SOCIAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE - POTENTIALLY PREPARING THEM FOR FUTURE PARTICIPATION IN THE JACKSONVILLE CHILDREN'S CHORUS' PERFORMING CHOIRS. WHILE MAKING MUSIC TOGETHER, CHILDREN LEARN TEAMWORK AS THEY CONTRIBUTE TO SONGS AND LEARN THAT TOGETHER THEY CAN MAKE SOMETHING BETTER THAN THEY COULD INDIVIDUALLY.
