THE MISSION OF THE YMCA IS TO PUT CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: AT THE YMCA, CHILDREN AND TEENS LEARN VALUES AND POSITIVE BEHAVIORS, AND THEY EXPLORE THEIR UNIQUE TALENTS, GIFTS AND ABILITIES, HELPING THEM REACH THEIR POTENTIAL. IN 2023, 848 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT AT THE Y, WHERE THEY LEARNED ABOUT HEALTHY EATING, PARTICIPATED IN THE ARTS AND RECEIVED HELP WITH THEIR HOMEWORK. 636 YOUTHS EXPERIENCED OUTDOOR LIFE AT CAMP WINONA. 1,411 CHILDREN OF ALL AGES LEARNED TO SWIM. 3,640 PARTICIPATED IN YOUTH SPORTS.
HEALTHY LIVING: THE YMCA ENCOURAGES MEMBERS TO CHALLENGE THEMSELVES TO LEARN NEW SKILLS OR HOBBIES, CONNECT WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY THROUGH FUN ACTIVITIES. AT THE END OF 2023 THERE WERE 31,849 ACTIVE MEMBERS. 619 RECEIVED PERSONAL TRAINING.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: THROUGH THE SUPPORT OF HUNDREDS OF DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS, THE YMCA IS ABLE TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE IN MANY WAYS. IN 2023 WE HAD 1,307 DONORS AND BENEFITTED FROM 10,000 VOLUNTEER HOURS. IN 2023, YMCA FACILITIES WERE USED AS A FEMA HUB AND FOR EMS HOUSING AFTER STORMS. OUR STAFF USED OUR BUSES TO EVACUATE STORM VICTIMS. IN 2023, 58% OF OUR MEMBERS AND PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS RECEIVED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE Y.
