THE MISSION OF THE FLORIDA NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY IS TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION, AND RESTORATION OF THE NATIVE PLANTS AND NATIVE PLANT COMMUNITIES OF FLORIDA.

EDUCATION - PUBLIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND PRESENTATIONS (IN PERSON AND ONLINE) AT SOCIETY MEETINGS, ANNUAL CONFERENCE, AT LOCAL CHAPTER MEETINGS, WEEKLY LUNCH AND LEARN, AND AT PUBLIC EVENTS AND VENUES. EDUCATION EVENTS ALSO INCLUDE FIELD TRIPS TO NATURAL AREAS (FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY AND LOCAL PARKS AND PRESERVES) AS WELL AS TOURS OF PUBLIC LANDSCAPES UTILIZING FLORIDA NATIVE PLANTS. FINANCIAL CHAPTER SUPPORT IS PROVIDED TO OUR LOCAL CHAPTERS TO PLAN AND HOST EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS, FIELD TRIPS AND EVENTS. EDUCATIONAL PUBLICATIONS INCLUDE A BIMONTHLY NEWSLETTER, THE SABAL MINOR, A QUARTERLY MAGAZINE, THE PALMETTO, AS WELL AS VIDEOS AND INTERACTIVE CONTENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS.
RESEARCH AND CONSERVATION NUMEROUS STATEWIDE PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS TO CONSERVE AND RESEARCH FLORIDAS NATIVE PLANTS AND PLANT COMMUNITIES. THESE INCLUDE HABITAT RESTORATION, HABITAT STUDIES, PLANT RESCUE AND RESTORATION, LAND MANAGEMENT, AS WELL AS MONITORING AND SURVEYING POPULATIONS OF FLORIDAS RARE AND ENDANGERED PLANT SPECIES AND PLANT COMMUNITIES. FUNDING FOR STUDENTS AND CONSERVATION PROFESSIONALS IS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH GRANT PROGRAMS SUPPORTING RESEARCH, APPLIED PLANT CONSERVATION, AND ETHNOBOTANY.
POLICY POLICIES AND POLICY STATEMENTS AND GUIDELINES ARE PRODUCED TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION, AND RESTORATION OF FLORIDAS NATIVE PLANTS AND NATIVE PLANT COMMUNITIES. THESE POLICIES AND POLICY STATEMENTS ARE SHARED WITH THE PUBLIC, LAND MANAGERS, AND ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF A LOBBYIST.
