HABITAT FOR HUMAINTY OF BREVARD COUNTY'S (HABITAT BREVARD) MISSION IS SEEKING TO PUT GOD'S LOVE INTO ACTION, BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER TO BUILD HOMES, COMMUNITIES AND HOPE. HABITAT BREVARD IS A COMMUNITY-BASED LOW INCOME HOUSING DEVELOPER. IT IS AN AFFILIATE OF HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL. HABITAT BREVARD HAS SERVED OVER 575 FAMILIES IN BREVARD COUNTY SINCE 1985, BUILDING, RENOVATING OR REPAIRING HOMES. CONSTRUCTION OF OVERSEAS HOMES HAS BEEN FUNDED THROUGH THE TITHE PROGRAM. HOUSES ARE BUILT AFFORDABLY, USING PRIMARILY VOLUNTEER LABOR, AND ARE SOL AT COST.

BREVARD HABITAT WORKS WITH FAMILIES TO BE SUCCESSFUL HOMEOWNERS. OUR PREQUALIFICATION PROCESS ENSURES LOW-INCOME FAMILIES HAVE THE NECESSARY INCOME TO PAY AN INTEREST FREE MORTGAGE. ADDITIONALLY, EACH HOMEOWNER MUST COMPLETE A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT CLASS AND COMPLETE 200 VOLUNTEER HOURS ON THEIR OWN HOME AND OTHER VOLUNTEER PROJECTS / COMMUNITY SERVICE. HABITAT BREVARD IS PROUD OF THE FAMILIES THAT HAVE CREATED A BETTER FUTURE FOR THEMSELVES, AND THEIR FUTURE GENERATIONS, BY PROVIDING A STABLE HOME.
BREVARD HABITAT COMPLETED TWO NEW AFFORDABLE HOMES FOR FEMALE VETERANS (ONE HOME HAS MOVED INTO), ENDING IN FISCAL YEAR JUNE 30, 2022. ELEVEN HOMES ARE IN VARIOUS STAGES OF CONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION. A FEMALE VETERANS VILLAGE IS BEING BUILT IN COCOA, FLORIDA. THREE HOMES HAVE BEEN MOVED INTO WITH THREE MORE IN PROCESS. THE SIX HOMES IN THE VILLAGE WILL BE COMPLETED BY FY 2023. HABITAT OF BREVARD DIVERTED 605.9 TONS OF WASTE FROM THE LANDFILL. REPAIR PROJECTS COMPLETED WERE 20 AND 19 MORE IN PROCESS. 6 OF THE REPAIRS FOR VETERANS.
BREVARD HABITAT OPERATES A RETAIL THRIFT STORE CALLED THE RESTORE. IT SPECIALIZES IN SELLING SURPLUS NEW AND USED BUILDING AND HOME IMPROVEMENT MATERIALS, APPLIANCES, AND FURNITURE TO THE PUBLIC. THE THRIFT STORE RECEIVES DONATED GOODS AND MATERIALS FROM BUSINESSES, CONTRACTORS, INDIVIDUALS AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. DONATED GOODS ARE RECORDED AS THRIFT STORE REVENUE AT THE TIME OF SALE.
