THE PURPOSE OF THE CLAY COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY, INC., IS THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, THE RELIEF OF SUFFERING AMONG ANIMALS, AND THE EXTENSION OF HUMANE EDUCATION.

MEDICAL SURGERIES & TREATMENTS AS FOLLOWS: 1271 DOG SPAYS & NEUTERS, 1695 MISC SURGERIES; 2350 FREE CAT STERILIZATIONS; 3132 EMERGENCY OR URGENT CARE PATIENTS. 26,224 OTHER ANIMALS RECEIVED OTHER FORMS OF VETERINARY CARE AT REDUCED RATES; 14,201 NEW PATIENTS BRING TOTAL PATIENT COUNT SINCE INCEPTION IN 1991 TO 164,496. IN 1996 A WILDLIFE REHABILITATION PROGRAM WAS ESTABLISHED RESULTING IN EMERGENCY CARE AND NURTURING SERVICES TO OVER 1,000 DIFFERENT ANIMALS. MORE THAN 80% OF THE ANIMALS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFULLY RELEASED AFTER REHABILITATION.
