NON-COMMERCIAL SUSTAINING ANNOUNCEMENTS - FLORIDA ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS (FAB) WORKS WITH THE GOVERNOR, CABINET MEMBERS AND STATE AGENCIES TO DISTRIBUTE PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS RELATING TO IMPORTANT ISSUES FACING FLORIDA, AS WELL AS NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, ALLOWING STATIONS TO FULFILL THEIR OBLIGATIONS TO INFORM AND EDUCATE THE CITIZENS OF FLORIDA ABOUT INFORMATION AND RELEVANT TOPICS. DURING FY 2021, MEMBERS RAN 446,570 SPOTS TOTALING $23,972,157 OF AIR TIME.
FCC INSPECTIONS - FLORIDA ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS PROVIDES TELEVISION AND RADIO STATIONS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FAB/FCC ALTERNATIVE INSPECTION PROGRAM. FAB HAS CONTRACTED AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTOR WHO CAN DO A COMPLETE FCC INSPECTION OF A STATION. IF THE STATION IS IN COMPLIANCE, FAB WILL ISSUE THE STATION A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE AND NOTIFY THE FCC. UNDER AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FCC, THE RANDOM INSPECTION REQUIREMENT IS WAIVED FOR THREE YEARS FOR STATIONS RECEIVING A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE. DURING FY 2021, 38 STATIONS RECEIVED INSPECTIONS UNDER THIS PROGRAM.
