THE GEORGIA POWER COMPANY POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL BENEFITS TRUST IS A TRUST FORMED FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING, HOLDING, AND INVESTING FUNDS TRANSFERRED FROM GEORGIA POWER COMPANY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL BENEFITS TO GEORGIA POWER COMPANY RETIRED EMPLOYEES. THE GEORGIA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION REQUIRES GEORGIA POWER COMPANY TO PLACE THE AMOUNT OF THESE RETIREMENT BENEFIT COSTS INCLUDED IN ITS ELECTRIC RATES IN AN EXTERNAL TRUST FUND. THE TRUST WAS FORMED SOLELY FOR THAT PURPOSE.
