BEACON CHARTER SCHOOLS, LOCATED IN WOONSOCKET, RHODE ISLAND CURRENTLY SERVES OVER 390 STUDENT ARTISTS FROM CITIES AND TOWNS ACROSS RHODE ISLAND. BEACON CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS OPENED IN 2003 TO BRING EDUCATIONAL ALTERNATIVES TO THE COMMUNITY. THE SCHOOL COMBINES A HIGH SCHOOL COLLEGE PREPARATORY PROGRAM WITH VISUAL, PERFORMING, AND CULINARY ARTS. FOUNDERS ACADEMY WAS OPENED IN 2015 SERVING GRADES 6-8, TO FOCUS ON STRENGTHENING STUDENTS' CORE ACADEMIC SKILLS WHILE INTRODUCING THEM TO BEACON'S THREE CORNERSTONE ARTS PROGRAMS.
