THE GRANT PARK CONSERVANCY IS THE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO THE RESTORATION, BEAUTIFICATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF HISTORIC GRANT PARK. THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO RETORE AND PRESERVE THE PARK'S NATURAL FEATURES AND HISTORIC IMPORTANCE WHILE PROVIDING VENUES FOR ACTIVE AND PASSIVE RECREATION FOR ALL TO ENJOY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE GRANT PARK CONSERVANCY MAINTAINS GRANT PARK IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITY OF ATLANTA AND HOSTS PROJECT G.R.A.N.T. WORK DAYS IN THE PARK. WORK DAYS ARE AN OPPORTUNITY TO EDUCATE VOLUNTEERS, BUILD SUPPORT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, AND MAKE AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT. VOLUNTEERS REMOVE DEBRIS, NON-NATIVE PLANT SPECIES, AND INVASIVE VINES. THEY SPREAD TONS OF MULCH TO PROTECT THE TREES, HELP WITH PRUNING AND WEEDING TO KEEP SIGHTLINES OPEN, AND PICK UP TRASH. THESE EFFORTS KEEP THE PARK CLEAN, HEALTHY, AND SAFE.


THE GRANT PARK CONSERVANCY HOSTS FUNDRAISING EVENTS TO BUILD AWARENESS OF THE ORGANIZATION'S ROLE IN RESTORING, BEAUTIFYING, AND MAINTAINING GRANT PARK AS WELL AS TO RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE GPC'S WORK. EACH YEAR, THE GPC HOSTS THE SUMMER SHADE FESTIVAL, A FREE TWO-DAY FESTIVAL IN GRANT PARK WHERE ATTENDEES ENJOY LIVE MUSIC, AN ARTISTS MARKET, AND FOOD TRUCKS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO HOSTS THE CANOPY SOIREAN INDOOR TICKETED FUNDRAISING EVENT THAT INCLUDES DINNER, MUSIC, AND DANCING.


THE GRANT PARK CONSERVANCY WORKS TO CREATE A WORLD-CLASS PARK BY SPONSORING SPECIFIC CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO RESTORE AND IMPROVE HISTORIC STRUCTURES, SUCH AS THE 1927 MILLEDGE FOUNTAIN, THE CIRCA 1890 LION BRIDGE, AND 1896 ERSKINE FOUNTAIN. AS PART OF THESE HISTORIC PRESERVATION EFFORTS, THE ORGANIZATION PLANTS AND MAINTAINS GARDENS AT THESE HISTORIC SITES, INCLUDING A RAIN GARDEN AT THE LION BRIDGE AND A DAFFODIL PROJECT GARDEN AT THE ERSKINE FOUNTAIN.
