SINCE 1948,CAMP LURECREST HAS PROVIDED NON-DENOMINATIONAL CHRISTIAN-EMPHASIS OVERNIGHT SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN GRADES 3-12. UP TO 10 WEEKS OF SUMMER CAMP ARE HELD ON A 60 ACRE CAMPUS IN LAKE LURE, NORTH CAROLINA. MORE THAN 200 CHILDREN ATTEND CAMP WEEKLY SUPPORTED BY 70 PAID AND VOLUNTEER STAFF. LURECREST REACHES OUT TO YOUTH IN NEED BY OFFERING TWO FREE SUMMER CAMP SESSIONS - CAMP CARE AND NEW VENTURE CAMP. * FOR 25 YEARS, CAMP CARE ("CANCER AIN'T REALLY THE END") (A CHARLOTTE, NC NON-PROFIT SERVING CHILDREN AFFECTED BY CANCER) HAS SENT CHILDREN AFFECTED BY CANCER AND THEIR SIBLINGS TO A WEEK OF CAMP FREE OF CHARGE. CAMP CARE BRINGS THEIR OWN VOLUNTEER AND MEDICAL STAFF TO FACILITATE THE WEEK OF CAMP ON OUR FACILITIES. * SEPARATELY, CAMP LURECREST RUNS NEW VENTURE CAMP FOR CHILDREN ABUSED/NEGLECTED (PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY, SEXUALLY) IN THE CARE OF CHARLOTTE/MECKLENBURG COUNTY YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES. CAMP LURECREST HOSTS RETREATS AND RENTAL CAMPS FOR CHURCHES, YOUTH, COLLEGE AND ADULT GROUPS TO SUPPORT CHRISTIAN EMPHASIS PROGRAMS. THE RELATIONSHIPS FORMED WITH LEADERS AND GUESTS OF THESE RETREATS ALSO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE SUMMER CAMP AND OVERALL MISSION OF CAMP LURECREST MINISTRIES.
