MENTAL HEALTH & HIV SUPPORT/SUBSTANCE USE AND OPIOD MISUSE PROGRAMS ARE INTENDED TO REDUCE HARM, PROMOTE HEALTH, AND IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR AT RISK INDIVIDUALS. THE PRIMARY GOAL IS TO PROVIDE GROUP MEMBERS WITH THE RESOURCES (I.E., KNOWLEDGE, MOTIVATION, AND SKILLS) THEY NEED TO MAKE CHOICES THAT REDUCE HARM TO THEMSELVES AND OTHERS. WITH THE RESOURCES (I.E., KNOWLEDGE, MOTIVATION, AND SKILLS) THEY NEED TO MAKE CHOICES THAT REDUCE HARM TO THEMSELVES AND OTHERS.
OPIOID EXCHANGE (OX) IS A PROGRAM THAT OFFERS HOLISTIC HARM REDUCTION SUPPORT GROUPS, CLEAN SYRINGE ACCESS, AND SUBSTANCE USE COUNSELING FOR INDIVIDUALS STRUGGLING WITH OPIOID ADDICTION.
GRANDPARENTS' HANDS (GPHS) PROGRAM IS AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO EDUCATING MEN AND WOMEN OVER THE AGE OF 55 ON HIV/AIDS AND SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS (STIS) RISK AND PREVENTION EDUCATION. THE PARTICIPANTS ARE SENIORS WITH ACTIVE LIFESTYLES WHO SERVE AS ROLE MODELS FOR OTHERS IN THE COMMUNITY ADVOCATING FOR SAFER-SEX PRACTICES, SEXUAL WELLNESS, HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, AND OVERALL WELLNESS(PSYCHOLOGICAL, PHYSICAL, ETC.). GPHS OFFER SENIORS THE OPPORTUNITY TO UNMASK SECRECY, SHAME, AND GUILT. GPHS ALSO PROMOTES HEALTHY LIFE CHOICES AND OFFER SENIORS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN THEIR HIV AND STI STATUS.
