TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS WITH LIFE-THREATENING EATING DISORDERS.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
MANNA PIVOTED IN 2021 AND STARTED A NEW PROGRAM IN ORDER TO SUPPORT CLIENTS WITH EATING DISORDERS DURING THE MENTAL HEALTH RUSH FOR TREATMENT MID-2021. WE STARTED THE FAMILY INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM IN MAY 2021 WHEN CLIENTS COULD NOT GO TO RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT BECAUSE IT WAS FULL FOR 6-8 WEEKS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. WHAT WE FOUND IN IMPLEMENTING THIS PROGRAM WAS THAT OUR CLIENTS NOT ONLY SPENT 1-2 WEEKS LESS IN TREATMENT OVERALL, BUT THE FAMILIES FELT MORE EMPOWERED, CONNECTED, AND RECOVERED FASTER.
WE SAW AN INCREASE IN OUR TREATMENT APPOINTMENTS IN 2021. WE ENGAGED IN 3,937 OUTPATIENT APPOINTMENTS, 1,707 INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT APPOINTMENTS, AND 1,536 PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION APPOINTMENTS. IN TOTAL, OUR OVERALL APPOINTMENT COUNT ROSE FROM 5498 IN 2020 TO 7,180 IN 2021. OUR SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT ALSO ROSE FROM $13,288.25 (2020) TO $144,557.65 (2021).
EDUCATION WE WORKED WITH THE ATLANTA DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY CENTER TO AMASS A GRANT FROM THE STATE. THIS GRANT ALLOWED FOR ATLANTA DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY TO TRAIN THE SEVEN REGIONS ACROSS THE STATE IN INTENSIVE TRAINING IN DIALECTICAL BEHIAVIOR THERAPY AND RADICALLY OPEN-DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR. SEVEN OF OUR PRIMARY THERAPISTS THAT WERE AT MANNA IN 2021-2022 WERE ALSO ABLE TO RECEIVE THIS TRAINING PRO BONO (NORMALLY $3,500 PER PERSON).
