Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
IN FISCAL YEAR 22, COVID-19 AND THE INABILITY TO HOST FULL IN-PERSON FUNDRAISING EVENTS IN 2020 AND 2021 CONTINUED TO IMPACT THE GEORGIA MUSIC FOUNDATION'S OPERATIONS. THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE ANNUAL GEORGIA MUSIC GRANT PROGRAM WAS DELAYED BY SEVERAL MONTHS WHILE SEEKING TO REPLACE THE PROCEEDS OF THE FUNDRAISING EVENTS THAT HISTORICALLY FUND THE GRANT PROGRAM. WHILE THE FOUNDATION WAS ABLE TO RETURN TO AN IN-PERSON BENEFIT CONCERT IN MAY 2022, COVID'S IMPACT ON SPONSORSHIPS, TICKET SALES AND THE COST OF EXPENSES LED TO SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED NET INCOME COMPARED TO PREVIOUS PRE-COVID YEARS. HOWEVER, THE FOUNDATION WAS ABLE TO PRODUCE AN ONLINE STREAMED MUSICAL EVENT AND RESUME OUTREACH ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING ADVOCACY WORK PROMOTING MUSICEDUCATION IN K-12 CLASSROOMS AS A PATHWAY TO INSTILLING CRITICAL SOFT SKILLS.
