THE GREATER COLUMBUS HEALTH FOUNDATION'S (THE "FOUNDATION")PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE IS TO ASSIST, ADVANCE, AND STRENGTHEN THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY OF COLUMBUS, GA IN ITS MISSION OF HEALING, IN ITS SERVICE AS A HEALTH RESOURCE FOR THE COMMUNITY, IN ITS PROVISION OF EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS IN VARIOUS HEALTHCARE RELATED FIELDS, AND IN ALL RELATED HEALTH AND HUMANITARIAN ENDEAVORS. RESOURCES GO TOWARD CARING FOR LIFE, EDUCATING PATIENTS AND CAREGIVERS, PROMOTING HEALTHY LIVING, ADDRESSING COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS AND PROVIDING COMPASSIONATE CARE FOR ALL PATIENTS.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

THE GREATER COLUMBUS HEALTH FOUNDATION PROVIDED FINAL FUNDING TO THE ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE HOSPITAL'S FACILITIES CONSISTENT WITH THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION. THE IMPROVEMENTS ALLOWED THE HOSPITAL TO IMPROVE UPON AND EXTEND THE PROVISIONS OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA. THE FOUNDATION FUNDED OTHER PROGRAMS FOR THE HOSPITAL INCLUDING CHARITABLE GIFTS TO INDIGENT PATIENTS TO DEFRAY COSTS INCURRED AT THE HOSPITAL AND ASSISTANCE TO EMPLOYEES AND FRIENDS OF THE HOSPITAL IN TIMES OF CRISIS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO FUNDED SEVERAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO SUPPORT STUDENTS IN ATTAINING THEIR PROFESSIONAL GOALS IN HEALTHCARE.
