PWP'S PRIMARY MISSION IS TO ASSIST SINGLE PARENT FAMILIES WITH THE TREMENDOUS CHALLENGES THEY FACE. WE RECOGNIZE THAT GOD NEVER INTENDED FOR ONE PERSON TO RAISE A FAMILY ON THEIR OWN, AND THAT A WIDOW AND THE FATHERLESS ARE AT THE CENTER OF GOD'S HEART.

THE ADVENTURE CENTERS ARE A PWP-OPERATED AFTER SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAM, THAT ALLOWS FOR A SAFE, CHRIST-CENTERED, AND EDUCATION-FILLED ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH THE PARENTS KNOW THEIR CHILD/CHILDREN ARE TAKEN CARE OF WHILE THEY ARE AT WORK. THE ADVENTURE CENTERS ARE EACH LOCATED WITHIN A LARGE APARTMENT COMPLEX AND SERVE THE RESIDENT FAMILIES OF THOSE COMMUNITIES.
ALL OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDING:BACK-TO-SCHOOL OUTREACH IS A ONE-DAY EVENT DESIGNED TO HELP SINGLE PARENTS SEND THEIR CHILDREN BACK TO SCHOOL EACH FALL. IT UTILIZES CHURCH OR SCHOOL BUILDINGS, PREPARING EACH ROOM TO MEET A DIFFERENT NEED. CHILDREN RECEIVE BRAND NEW CLOTHING, HAIR CUTS, BOOK BAGS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, AND DENTAL, HEARING, & VISION EXAMS. IF A PROBLEM IS FOUND, IT IS ADDRESSED FREE OF CHARGE. THERE IS A JOB FAIR, FOOD, ENTERTAINMENT, AND A GOSPEL PRESENTATION, WHILE OUT IN THE PARKING LOT MECHANICS ARE BUSY CHANGING THE SINGLE PARENTS' OIL AND DOING LIGHT MAINTENANCE ON THEIR VEHICLES.CELEBRATION FOR CHRIST AND JACOB'S WELL - "CELEBRATION FOR CHRIST" IS A CHRISTMAS PROGRAM, WHERE CHILDREN RECEIVE NEW CLOTHING, TOYS, FOOD, PICTURES WITH SANTA, AND AN ENTERTAINING PRESENTATION OF THE GOSPEL.SENIOR LIFESTYLE PROGRAM(SLP) - SLP COORDINATORS PLAN SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES, AS WELL AS OFF-SITE OUTINGS FOR SENIOR ADULTS 55 AND OVER. LIFE GROUPS PROGRAM - LIFE GROUP LEADERS PLAN SMALL GROUP MEETINGS, TWICE A MONTH, WITH SOCIAL, NETWORKING, EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL, AND ENCOURAGEMENT ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS OF ALL AGES.
FOOD-CO-OP PROGRAM - NUTRITIOUS FOOD IS PROVIDED BY THE ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES WHO QUALIFY UNDER CERTAIN INCOME LIMITS. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY $100 WORTH OF FOOD PER FAMILY EVERY TWO WEEKS FOR A NOMINAL $3 FEE. THE FOOD SECURITY FOR AMERICA PROGRAM, WHO MANAGES THIS FOOD DISTRIBUTION, IS A SECTION 501(C) NON-PROFIT, FAITH BASED ORGANIZATION.
