THE CENTER FOR VIOLENCE PREVENTION CONTINUES TO PROVIDE SERVICES FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND SURVIVORS OF HOMICIDE. DURING OUR PAST FISCAL YEAR, 102 ADULTS AND 48 CHILDREN WERE PROVIDED EMERGENCY SHELTER, AND 236 CLIENTS RECEIVED OUTREACH SERVICES. TWENTY-SIX ADULT AND 16 CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT VICTIMS RECEIVED SERVICES, AND THROUGH THE BRIDGE FORENSIC SERVICES, 88 CLIENTS RECEIVED MEDICAL ASSESSMENTS. THE TOWER, CVP'S RESIDENTIAL LONG-TERM PROGRAM FOR VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING, PROVIDED RAPID RESPONSE TO 176 VICTIMS, 134 OF THOSE BEING ADULTS AND 42 CHILDREN. ADDITIONALLY, RENOVATION OF THE TOWER SPACE WAS COMPLETED, WHICH DOUBLED THE BED SPACE TO 12. THREE SURVIVORS OF HOMICIDE RECEIVED SUPPORT SERVICES. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING NIGHTS OF SERVICE TOTALED 667. THROUGH CVP'S 26-WEEK EVIDENCE-BASED PROGRAM, 164 PARTICIPANTS ATTENDED THE BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION CLASSES.CVP'S MISSION IS TO ENSURE THAT ALL PEOPLE EXPERIENCE A LIFE FREE FROM VIOLENCE. FOR OVER THREE DECADES, THE EMERGENCY SHELTER HAS SERVED AS A PRIMARY SOURCE OF REFUGE FOR THOSE FLEEING DANGEROUS CIRCUMSTANCES IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI. A PRIMARY FOCUS OF THE AGENCY IS TO PREPARE THOSE VICTIMS WITH THE EDUCATION, AWARENESS AND RESOURCES THAT WILL LEAD THEM TO A SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME. THIS YEAR, CASE MANAGERS HAVE PROVIDED 7,489 HOURS OF CASE MANAGEMENT. STAFF HAS EQUIPPED CLIENTS WITH FINANCIAL CASE MANAGEMENT PLANS, JOB SKILLS, PATHS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION, PARENTING SKILL SETS, AND MORE.TRAUMA THERAPY IS KEY TO RECOVERY FROM INTERPERSONAL VIOLENCE, AND CVP EMPLOYS FOUR FULL-TIME THERAPISTS WHO PROVIDED 3,909 HOURS OF GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL THERAPY. THE SUCCESS OF ALL PROGRAMS COMBINED ARE EVIDENT IN THE DISCHARGE STATISTICS. OF THE 125 ADULT DISCHARGES FROM SHELTER, 74% WERE CONFIDENT IN THEIR SAFETY PLAN AND 71% WENT TO A NEW LIVING ARRANGEMENT AWAY FROM THEIR ABUSER. ADDITIONALLY, OUR THERAPEUTIC STAFF HAS STEPPED UP TO IMPLEMENT TELEHEALTH THERAPY TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE SERVICES DURING COVID. THROUGHOUT THIS DIFFICULT YEAR, CVP HAS IMPLEMENTED MULTIPLE SAFETY PROTOCOLS TO KEEP OUR STAFF AND CLIENTS WELL.
