THE TUTWILER COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER STRENGTHENS CHILDREN AND FAMILIES BY DEVELOPING PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY.

THE CENTER OFFERS EDUCATION AND RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AGES 7 TO 18, PARENTING WORKSHOPS, ACTIVITIES FOR SENIORS, AND TOWN MEETINGS. OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE AN ATHLETIC PROGRAM WITH A GYM, A MUSIC PROGRAM AND A SUMMER PROGRAM SO ALL AGE GROUPS HAVE ACTIVITIES. THE CENTER IS AVAILABLE FOR FAMILY REUNIONS AND WEDDING RECEPTIONS.
THE QUILTING PROGRAM PROVIDES A SOURCE OF INCOME FOR 20 TO 25 WOMEN IN THIS ECONOMICALLY DEPRESSED AREA. QUILT SALES PROVIDE FOR THESE WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM IS FOR CHILDREN AGES 7 TO 12 IN THE TUTWILER COMMUNITY. THE CENTER OFFERS A COMPUTER LAB TO ASSIST CHILDREN WITH HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES.
