LPCA CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAM - ORGANIZATIONS, AGENCIES, OR INSTITUTIONS WISHING TO OBTAIN APPROVAL FOR CORE ETHICS EDUCATION HOURS FOR LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS IN GEORGIA MAY DO SO THROUGH THE LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA. (LPCA). EACH APPLICATION MUST IDENTIFY IF THE EVENT IS FOR CORE HOURS FOR LPCS OR ETHICS HOURS. EVENTS SUCH AS WORKSHOPS, CONFERENCES, SYMPOSIA, AND TRAINING ARE SUBMITTED FOR COMMITTEE REVIEW.ACHIEVEMENT: THE LPCA CE COMMITTEE HAS PROCESSED OVER 65 APPLICATIONS PROVIDING GUIDANCE AND DIRECTION TO ENSURE QUALITY TRAINING THAT MEETS THE STATE OF GEORGIA COMPOSITE BOARD OF PC, SW, AND MFT.
THE ANNUAL CONVENTION PROVIDES THE HIGHEST QUALITY TRAINING FOR LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS OVER FOUR DAYS. THE ANNUAL CONVENTION IS AN ESSENTIAL FACET OF THE LPCAGA MISSION STATEMENT, THE PROFESSION, AND MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS PROFESSIONALISM BY PROVIDING THE LATEST TRENDS IN TREATMENT PLANS AND ACCESS TO ADVANCED EXPERTS. ACHIEVEMENT: DUE TO DEMAND, THE LPCAGA CONVENTION HAS BEEN EXPANDED TO A REGIONAL CONFERENCE TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO OTHER STATES MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS. WE CURRENTLY SERVE OVER 750 ATTENDEES, PROVIDING 24 CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT HOURS, INCLUDING ETHICS, SUPERVISION TRAINING, AND CORE TRAINING.
THE LPCA NEWSLETTERS PROMOTES THE PROFESSION AND SERVICES OF LPAC. IT CONTAINS A LIST OF CONTINUING EDUCATION WORKSHOPS, UPDATES COVERING THE ENTIRE STATE OF GEORGIA. NEWSLETTERS KEEP MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS INFORMED OF IMPORTANT CHANGES AND EVENTS.ACHIEVEMENT: MEMBERS SURVEY ASKED IF MEMBERS PREFER AN ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER INSTEAD OF A HARD COPY. 78% RESPONDED THEY PREFER THE PRINTED NEWSLETTER.
