THE PURPOSE OF THE BUILDING PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED RESIDENTS OF CATAWBA COUNTY WITH DECENT AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING. EACH YEAR, MULTIPLE FAMILIES MOVE INTO THEIR NEW HABITAT HOMES. BEFORE RECEIVING THE KEYS TO THEIR NEW HOME, EACH HOMEOWNER VOLUNTEERS 250 HOURS WITH HABITAT BY WORKING ON BOTH THE CONSTRUCTION SITE AND IN THE RESTORE.WE ALSO OFFER FINANCIAL LITERACY, HOMEOWNERSHIP, AND ESTATE PLANNING CLASSES TO EQUIP FAMILIES WITH ESSENTIAL SKILLS. FOR THOSE NOT ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM, WE PROVIDE RESOURCES TO IMPROVE THEIR LIVING SITUATIONS. OUR HOME REPAIR PROGRAM SERVICES FAMILIES EACH YEAR, COMPLETING CRITICAL REPAIRS TO ENSURE HOMES REMAIN SAFE, DRY, AND WARM. THROUGH THESE INITIATIVES, WE EMPOWER FAMILIES, ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE, AND STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITY.
RESTORE CATAWBA VALLEY PLAYS A VITAL ROLE IN SUPPORTING HABITAT FOR HUMANITY'S BUILDING PROGRAM IN CATAWBA COUNTY, HELPING TO ENSURE THAT MORE FAMILIES HAVE A DECENT AND AFFORDABLE PLACE TO CALL HOME. AS A NONPROFIT RETAIL STORE AND DONATION CENTER, RESTORE CATAWBA VALLEY SELLS NEW AND GENTLY USED FURNITURE, HOME ACCESSORIES, APPLIANCES, AND MORE AT A FRACTION OF RETAIL PRICES. A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF OUR INVENTORY CONSISTS OF NEW FURNITURE DONATED BY LOCAL MANUFACTURERS AND RETAILERS, ALLOWING US TO OFFER QUALITY PRODUCTS TO THE COMMUNITY. ALL PROCEEDS FROM RESTORE DIRECTLY BENEFIT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF CATAWBA VALLEY, PROVIDING ESSENTIAL FUNDING FOR OUR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AND HOUSING INITIATIVES. THROUGH THIS MODEL, WE NOT ONLY PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT BUT ALSO MAKE STRIDES TOWARD FULFILLING OUR MISSION OF PROVIDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO FAMILIES IN NEED.
