THE ROLE OF PINECONE IS TO INCREASE THE VISIBILITY OF NORTH CAROLINA'S PIEDMONT MUSIC AND MUSICIANS AND TO PROVIDE PUBLIC PROGRAMS AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES ABOUT THE DEPTH AND BREADTH OF CULTURAL EXPRESSION IN THE REGION TODAY. PINECONE PRESENTS MORE THAN 200 MUSIC PROGRAMS ANNUALLY, INCLUDING CONCERTS, FESTIVALS, RADIO SHOWS, JAM SESSIONS, YOUTH MUSIC CAMPS, WORKSHOPS, DOCUMENTARY PROJECTS, AND MORE. PINECONE IS THE LOCAL HOST FOR THE INTERNATIONAL BLUEGRASS MUSIC ASSOCIATION'S WORLD OF BLUEGRASS CONVENTION IN THE FALL, AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PRODUCING THE IBMA'S TWO-DAY WIDE OPEN BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL.
