ANIMAL SERVICES - ATLANTA HUMANE UNDERSTANDS THAT MAKING A TRUE IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY REQUIRES A COMPREHENSIVE AND HOLISTIC APPROACH TO CARING FOR BOTH PETS AND PEOPLE. WE ARE PROUD TO REPORT THAT OUR SERVICES AND PROGRAMS POSITIVELY IMPACTED 74,668 ANIMALS IN THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2023. IN THAT SAME YEAR, OUR ANIMAL HEALTH TEAM TREATED SICK ANIMALS AND PERFORMED SPAY/NEUTER PROCEDURES ON 4,778 CATS AND DOGS, BENEFITING BOTH OUR SHELTER ANIMALS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS. MOREOVER, OUR COMMUNITY INITIATIVES TEAM HAS PROVIDED RESOURCES TO SUPPORT PET OWNERS IN ATLANTA AND OUR PARTNER SHELTERS IN GEORGIA. IN 2023 ALONE, WE DISTRIBUTED 419,136 POUNDS OF FREE PET FOOD TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS.
REMEDY - ATLANTA HUMANE SOCIETY OPERATES A VETERINARY PRACTICE, REMEDY, THAT PROVIDES OUR COMMUNITY WITH ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE, TRANSPARENTLY PRICED SERVICES THAT ADDRESS ALL ESSENTIAL ASPECTS OF A PET'S HEALTH. CURRENTLY, WE ARE SERVING COMMUNITIES IN ATLANTA, GA AND GAINESVILLE, FL. REMEDY PROVIDES A RANGE OF SERVICES FROM PREVENTATIVE WELLNESS AND SPAY/NEUTER PROCEDURES TO HEARTWORM TREATMENT AND DENTAL SURGERY. IN 2023, REMEDY HAS PROVIDED AFFORDABLE MEDICAL CARE TO OVER 5,762 PETS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SERVICES - OVER THE PAST YEAR, THE ATLANTA HUMANE SOCIETY HAS PROVIDED AN ARRAY OF HUMANE EDUCATION INITIATIVES. IN 2023, OUR RESOURCE CENTER PROVIDED 25,631 COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH VITAL ANIMAL WELFARE RESOURCES. THESE RESOURCES ENCOMPASSED EDUCATION ON THE PROPER CARE AND TREATMENT OF ANIMALS, AN OVERVIEW OF THE ATLANTA HUMANE SOCIETY, AND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PROGRAMS LIKE SPAY/NEUTER. FURTHERMORE, THE ATLANTA HUMANE SOCIETY IS COMMITTED TO ENHANCING PUBLIC AWARENESS ABOUT THE HUMANE TREATMENT OF ANIMALS, UTILIZING VARIOUS COMMUNICATION CHANNELS, INCLUDING OUR ANNUAL TELETHON EVENT.
