CONTRIBUTE TO THE LONG-TERM WELFARE OF HOMELESS DOGS, PRIMARILY OLD DOGS (7+YEARS OLD), ILL AND INJURED DOGS ABANDONED IN SHELTERS. THIS INCLUDES 1) PROVIDING DIRECT CARE/SANCTUARY FOR "UNADOPTABLE" SENIOR/SPECIAL NEEDS DOGS RESCUED FROM SHELTERS (6 DURING 2022), AND 2) ENCOURAGING ADOPTION FROM SHELTERS OF SENIOR, ILL, AND INJURED DOGS BY INDIVIDUALS, BY PAYING FOR THEIR MEDICAL CARE (14 AT THE BEGINNING OF 2022, PLUS AN ADDITIONAL 10). CARE INCLUDED HEART MEDS, SENIOR EXAMS, COUGH MEDS, CRITICAL CARE, EUTHANASIA, NERVE INJECTION TREATMENT, DENTAL CARE, SENIOR SCREENING, ARTHRITIS MEDS, CREMATION, INCONTINENCE MEDS, KNEE BRACE, FLUID THERAPY, LUMP ASPIRATION, AND KIDNEY FAILURE TREATMENT. ADOPTIONS ARE COORDINATED BY THE SHELTERS, AND AFTER PROPER APPLICATION AND APPROVAL THE FOUNDATION MAKES PAYMENTS FOR MEDICAL CARE FOR ADOPTED DOGS DIRECTLY TO VETERINARIANS. THE FOUNDATION HAS RESCUED/FACILITATED THE ADOPTION OF OVER 1,500 DOGS AND CATS SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 2004.
