THE FRIENDS OF LAKE KEOWEE SOCIETY ("FOLKS") IS A VOLUNTEER, NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO THE CONSERVATION AND ENLIGHTENED MANAGEMENT OF LAKE KEOWEE AND ITS WATERSHED.FOLKS IS DEDICATED TO IDENTIFYING POLLUTION SOURCES AND TRACKING THE PROGRESS AGAINST THEM, BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES FOR TIMBER HARVEST AND CATTLE OPERATIONS, PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE FOR SEPTIC SYSTEMS, IMPROVED BUFFERS FOR WATERSIDE LANDSCAPES AND CONTAINMENT OF LANDFILLS AND MARINE DISCHARGE.
