WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING: TO ADDRESS THE SHORTAGE OF REGISTERED NURSES IN THE HOME HEALTH AND HOSPICE SETTING, THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF A PILOT PROGRAM TO ONBOARD RECENT GRADUATES AND NEWLY HIRED NURSES TO THE FIELD. FUNDING FOR THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN PROVIDED BY SEVERAL MULTI-YEAR GRANTS.DURING FY 2021, THE FOUNDATION UNDERTOOK A PROJECT TO PROVIDE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) FOR NORTH CAROLINA'S HOME CARE, HOME HEALTH, AND IN-HOME HOSPICE CARE AGENCIES TO PROTECT NURSES, AIDES, THERAPISTS, AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE CARE TEAM FROM EXPOSURE TO, OR TRANSMISSION OF, COVID-19.
