Part 3 - Line 4a

FRANK "CHIEF" BELL, SR., FOUNDER OF CAMPS MONDAMIN AND GREEN COVE, ARTICULATED THAT "THE WILDERNESS CAN BE A MAGNIFICENT PLAYGROUND AND A GREAT UNIVERSITY. IF EDUCATION IS A SERIES OF CONTINUING EXPERIENCES THAT BUILD THE KNOWLEDGE, THE SKILLS, THE HABITS, THE APPRECIATIONS, THE ATTITUDES, THE VALUES, AND ULTIMATELY AND HOPEFULLY THE WISDOM THAT ENRICHES LIVING, THEN WE NEED TO GO FAR BEYOND THE CLASSROOM." C+CBSF PROVIDES THE LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE OF SUMMER CAMP TO CHILDREN WHO COULD NOT ATTEND WITHOUT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. C+CBSF BELIEVES OUTDOOR PURSUITS ARE A POSITIVE AND ENRICHING OPPORTUNITY FOR PERSONAL GROWTH, AND THESE OPPORTUNITIES CAN BE A PATHWAY TO SUCCESS IN AN EVER-CHANGING WORLD. IN ADDITION TO THE DIRECT BENEFIT OF ATTENDING CAMP, FINANCIAL AID FROM C+CBSF ALSO EXPOSES CHILDREN TO THE FUTURE POSSIBILITY OF EMPLOYMENT AS CAMP COUNSELORS, WHICH IS A FORMATIVE EXPERIENCE FOR

MANY YOUNG ADULTS AND IS OFTEN ONE OF THE FIRST PAID JOBS CAMP ALUMNI UNDERTAKE. SUMMERS SPENT AT CAMP AFFORD CHILDREN THE CHANCE TO WORK HARD AND EARN THE REWARD OF PERSONAL SATISFACTION AND ACCOMPLISHMENT WITHOUT TROPHIES OR MEDALS. PROVIDING SUCH OPPORTUNITIES TO YOUNG PEOPLE, REGARDLESS OF THEIR SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS, ALSO ALLOWS THEM TO LEARN ABOUT AND ENGAGE WITH THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. IN A WORLD WHERE PEOPLE ARE RARELY WITHOUT A DEVICE IN-HAND, SUMMER CAMP PROVIDES ONE OF THE BEST OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN TO UNPLUG. SINCE C+CBSF BEGAN PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN 2004, 286 SCHOLARSHIPS HAVE BEEN AWARDED FOR A TOTAL OF $537,851. IN 2023, WE AWARDED 18 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR A TOTAL OF
